IM Systems’ DeSat Counter
makes the History Channel’s top five Modern Marvels
Inventions for 2007.
The Desat Counter received national recognition and
media attention through the History Channel’s Modern
Marvels Invention challenge for 2007, the “Desat
Counter”, which detects and displays sleep apnea events
in real-time (no download or computer analysis required)
took 4th place in this years invention challenge out of
3,312 entries. The DeSat Counter was on national
exhibition at numerous science museums throughout the
country and recently aired on the History Channel during
the Modern Marvels TV series: Great Inventions Week.
Respironics acquires PAM-RL
Objective Limb Activity Monitor from IM Systems.
Respironics, Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS Symbol: RESP) announces
the acquisition from IM Systems the PAM-RL, an objective
activity-monitoring device used to record and analyze
Periodic Limb Movements (PLMs). PLMs can disrupt sleep,
or delay sleep onset, and are often associated with
Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) and other neurological
disorders.
Respironics licenses
RUSleeping RTS in-home Apnea Screening Monitor from IM
Systems.
The RUSleeping RTS is an in-home objective-screening
device that provides continuous real-time apneic event
scoring – no computer download is required. Lightweight
and compact, the monitor displays immediate readouts of:
1) average hourly apneic events, 2) total nightly apneic
events and 3) apneic events by hour. The RUSleeping RTS
supplements other subjective screening methods such as
questionnaires and diaries, is convenient to use and
ideal for use on patients suspected of having sleep
apnea.

Monitor wins Medtrade 2007 Innovation Award.
Respironics RUSleeping RTS apneic screener device
(licensed from IM Systems) won the Innovation Award at
the 2007 Medtrade conference, held in Las Vegas. The
device was awarded Best New Product in the Category of
Top Design High Technology State of the Art from all
products displayed in the New Product Pavilion at the
conference.
